Mao Sun, CPA, CA

Partner

Mao has been practicing in public accounting since 2003. Before founding Mao & Ying LLP in 2009, he gained valuable experience in the assurance division of a globally recognized accounting firm. Over the years, Mao has served clients across a wide range of industries, developing deep expertise in Canadian accounting standards and a strong understanding of both personal and corporate tax matters. His core practice areas include: tax planning for corporations and individuals, assurance services, and business consulting.

Mao holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in New York City and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Nanjing University in China. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Mao is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Tax Foundation.

Linda Zhu, CPA, CA

Partner

Linda has over 20 years of experience in public company assurance and financial reporting, with a strong technical foundation in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). As a former assurance partner at Ernst & Young LLP, she specialized in serving publicly traded companies, helping them navigate complex reporting requirements and emerging financial issues. Linda’s expertise includes: managing multi-national audit engagements, advising on regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, designing and implementing effective internal controls over financial reporting and business improvement.

Linda has worked across a wide range of industries, including mining (exploration, development, and production), technology, manufacturing, biotechnology, forestry, and agriculture. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Linda is well-equipped to serve clients in diverse business environments.

Shaohua Huang, CPA, CA

Partner

Shaohua has more than 17 years of experience in assurance and financial reporting for both public and private companies, including experience with a Big Four accounting firm. He has participated in complex multinational audit engagements and offers strong expertise in cross-border financial reporting and regulatory compliance. His areas of expertise include: audits of multinational corporations with complex group reporting structures, support for capital market transactions in Canada, the United States, and Hong Kong, including IPOs, RTOs, and SPACs, internal control compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reporting, financial reporting advisory for public companies listed in Canada and the United States under IFRS and U.S. GAAP.

Shaohua has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including mining companies at the exploration, development, and production stages, as well as technology, helicopter maintenance and transportation, manufacturing, and biotechnology.
